Immediate action drills are a combination of blocking and close quarter striking to stop the attack. It provides options to control the attacking weapon and transition to a weapon or takedown.
This training focusing on sudden Spontaneous edged weapon attack when the officer has not knowingly prepared to respond. Study of gross motor skill Actions to Spontaneous edge weapon Assaults:

Ground Defensive Tactics & Avoidance is armed / unarmed grappling.
Here we are referring to engaging in the extremely close quarter combative circumstance, again armed or unarmed, standing up or on the ground, the intent is to neutralize the suspect as quickly as possible by applying force to do structural damage on the suspect.
As is the rule in weapons combat “L.E.O/Security and P.P.O”., in Combative Grappling we train to stay on our feet. We do not want to give up mobility and visibility on the ground and we don’t want to get into a wrestling match with the suspect as they maybe additional threats that the officer is not aware of.
That being said we must train on the ground but we want to neutralize suspect as quickly as possible and be able to move on. We want very little body-to-body contact if at all possible. The more body-to-body contact there is,
the more contact points the suspect has to wrestle against. The fewer contact points applied
against the suspect, not only is he/she less able to engage in counter-movements, but the
more force you are able to apply to into areas that will mostly effectively leverage to neutralize
the suspect.
This is vital for all “L.E.O/Security and P.P.O” as well as civilians specially in today’s
NASTY world, where your life isn’t worth much and people rather than help pull out their cell
phone and video tape your demise.
Weapon Retention and Crises Weapon Recover
"Weapon retention." Nothing about this phrase provides a glimpse of the terror and the panic involved when you suddenly realize what that vicious tugging at your side means. And nothing in that phrase hints at the grit and the heart that is needed to keep your weapon when a prepared offender, or even an opportunistic suspect, attempts to murder you with it.
What is IMPORTANT to known about weapon retention:
1) If an offender takes your weapon from you, he will attempt to murder you with it 80% of the time.
2) If an offender makes a second attempt to take your weapon, you will be murdered 80% of the time.
3) Between 8 and 15% of all officers murdered every year die after being shot to death with their own weapon.
Every officer deserves and requires the finest weapon retention training there is, this course focuses on effective and defensible physical skills involving outcome-based, simple to learn, gross-motor skill dependent, non-technical defense methods designed for your average and/or least able officers. Based upon Efficient Combatives analytical skills, officers learn to logically problem solve defense tactics situation.
1) Efficient Combative analytical skills
2) Standing Holstered Retention
3) Standing weapon In-Hand Retention
4) Reality Based Weapon Retention Application
5) Holstered In-Hand Retention Ground Defensive Tactics
6) Reality Based Officer Ground Defensive Tactics
7) Crisis Weapon Recovery Tactics
8) Rifle Retention

The Art of The Gun Draw
Whether it’s during firearms qualification or in the middle of a gun fight for your life, if you want more time for target acquisition and shoot proficiency, improving the speed and efficiency of your gun draw will do just that.
An efficient and fast gun draw focused on repeatable economy of motion and gun placement with the fast retention holster draw is all part of the collective of your gun draw and weapon-handling skill set, it could save an officer's life.
Unfortunately, there are too many officers who draw their handguns as if a threat will give them all the time and space in the world. Generally, I don’t blame these officers for the lackadaisical handgun presentation. I blame their firearm instructors. There is no reason instructors should allow this type of draw and presentation during training. Allowing this laziness conditions officers to slowly present their handguns even when confronted with a threat. Officers should condition themselves to draw their handgun like they mean it every single time.
T.D.T.C. offer this training as we see it as a crucial PART OF ANY OFFICERS TRAINING!!! The reason for getting the gun out of the holster is to confront a threat. The faster the gun is drawn from the holster, the more time you have to assess and shoot accurately.

Advance Pistol L8 - Center Axis Relock (aka) C.A.R.
Designed by Paul Castle. The most notable feature of the CAR system is its unique firing stance. There are four positions that are taught, each of which is used based on how far the target is from the shooter, as well as various tactical considerations for the situation. All firing positions are based on a "bladed" stance, which means the shooter stands sideways relative to their target, with their non-dominant arm's shoulder facing the target. In addition, all four positions involving keeping the firearm very close to the torso compared to other shooting stances, and in all but one, the weapon is held tilted slightly to one side, rather than vertically. The four individual positions are described as follows:
High, Combat High, Extended, Apogee.

When instructed, get out of the patrol car, open the trunk and retrieve a baton and an inert firearm or run from the corner of your home to the other end.
Place the firearm on a nearby pedestal.
While carrying the baton, run 220 yards.
Climb or jump over a short wall., High step over several low hurdles., Belly crawl, Drag a dummy weighing 150 pounds or more 50 feet.
Drop the dummy and repeat the rest of the course in reverse, Belly crawl, High step, Wall climb or run upstairs, Run 220 yards.
Dry fire the handgun or Tactical Airsoft live fire at target and Return to patrol car or house.
